Ubisoft
I am a huge fan of ANNO series and have been playing for a while (years) on Ubisoft as they launched it first. Over the years I migrated to STEAM, and started buying ANNO games on STEAM instead so that all my games are in one place. I just happened to open UBISOFT the past week feeling all melancholy for my previous games only to discover - that my ANNO game will launch from Ubisoft but then open in STEAM? Are these two in bed together or can we move games from Ubisoft onto Steam? It seams like Ubisoft has given up?

Ubisoft games sold on Steam require the Ubisoft Connect launcher to run. So if you replaced your Ubisoft Connect versions with Steam ones, well, you didn't actually replace them, you just bought a second copy that will exist side-by-side with your original Ubisoft ones but will now require both platforms running in order to play them.

If you look on the right hand side of Steam store pages, it should tell you in a golden box if a game requires another launcher. For example: Anno 2070: Requires 3rd-Party Account: Ubisoft Account (Supports Linking to Steam Account). Anno 1800 does not have this box, and likely does not need Ubisoft Connect. I don't own Anno 1800 on Steam, so cannot confirm if this is the case or if the page is missing relevant information.

On Ubisoft Connect's end, you should see a "Steam" label under the name of the game for any title that requires Steam to be running.

Note that you cannot transfer Ubisoft Connect titles to Steam or vice versa.
