Alone in the Dark the New Nightmare
Just played it on Steam Deck today, it played fine but the controls were a bit confusing to start out. Does anyone know how to save your game so you can exit and not have to start over again?

Games are surprisingly reluctant to tell you how their save-systems work these days.

You could just ask in the game forum how to save the game. Over time, developers might notice that this IS a subject people want to know, so they might just tell us right away in the game.

Did you try to just quit to see what happens? Some games just save when you do, so you pick up exactly where you left.

Other games do checkpoint saves -- the game saves when you reach certain locations. There's usually an animated icon showing when that happens, but sometimes these are rather hard to notice. Some games have a good number of these checkpoints, others less so.

I'm assuming you've already checked the menu, and didn't find a "save" there?

I finished it. You need to find save items scattered around locations and use them to save your progress.
