Windows 7 April Update

[Master.Constructor]

July UpdatePack7 2024.7.10 is out and is running fine for me. I've installed it on several of my Win7 machines and no issues to report.

I'm sure that there are many Win7 users out there that are unaware of these monthly updates. My experience has been very good since I started using them in 2021. One download will update a fresh install of Windows 7 SP1 to current day (or you can update the ISO before installing). Save time and bandwidth, it's basically SP2.

Steam seems fine. No real issues to report.

If you have any suggestions on improving the stability or utility of Windows 7 please share with us.

Update: New Steam client on June 13 seems to be working better than previous.
Update: UpdatePack7 24.6.12 (June 2024) is delivering as expected.

my way of life is to only update when the current version of windows is too weak. i had to install a lot of updates in windows 8.1 for final fantasy 15 to run.

Wait, people actually just download random programs someone labled as a windows 7 update?!

That sounds almost as bad as when your grandma uses the computer and clicks every ad that says you need to update your flash player or something.

Win 10, 11 very much are designed to protest to that. Whilst I understand that security needs routine updates, not everything that is being pushed is security related.
MS: Hey, like that image viewer? We just replaced it with our newer one to make One Drive more apealling!

Me: Well, that is fancy and everything, except for the part where the newer one seems to have weaker capacity at handling multiple files, among other things...

i might test it. though i intend to wait until i have tested official updates. if something breaks that official updates is unable to fix, then i might try it.

but a third party that has made this work for 7

Correct, I do not say anything about Microsoft.

Installing anything on any computer has risk. I am only speaking from first hand experience of using this pack starting from 2021 on. I've used it on countless PC's over the years and have had or found no problems. The real risk I have experienced is with NOT using UpdatePack7.

I absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND using Microsoft Windows 7 without UpdatePack7.
