That is how all Windows updates work. If they do not work like that, you are getting scammed. If they do and they're not from Microsoft, you are getting scammed.
No, windows update does not work like that xd
only drivers and ntoskrnl.exe have right to play on kernel level and some nasty rootkit sometimes

And sorry it was refreshing and funny for me on first try but now you start to be clueless and not interresting so i guess this is the last time we will exchange unless you start to improve yourself so byebye xd
ps:
my bad i've also forget that hal.dll is also working on kernel level xd
you download and give money to games here on steam from "internet strangers", microsoft is an "internet stranger" as well...
anywho, we can download from where we want, our pc's our choice, dont like it, then dont read the thread.
im not "you people" dont label me like that, its rude and insulting.
also those arent fake updates, you can grab the same exact updates from the microsoft catalog.
if you had bothered even doing a bit of research, you would know this and not be making stuff up.
A user i've allready blocked since last year ..
why do all that manually, when i can use an AIO (all in one, installer), which does it all for me?
Not counting that you need to unpack them before using them as their primary use is for embedded ...
yup, but other people cant see past their own views and are just here to make false claims, without doing a single bit of research.
you do know microsoft downloads, or any other "official" downloads can also be malicious and have whats called "drive by" placement of virus/malware right?
see, it seems people here like to make claims of things being bad, yet have no clue how all this stuff works...
you can also get viruses/malware from popups, ads, scripts and much more, almost anywhere and everywhere on the internet
anywho, i have been using pc's since the early 80's, i dont need advice from people on where or what i can download.
also, thats what link scanners and internet file scanning is for, or downloading to a contained drive (example being a usb flash drive) with the file unopened and scanned outside the OS environment with portable antivirus software, or inside the OS environment with built-in or third party antivirus software.
in any case, stop trying to spin stuff about downloading on the internet, when you cant be bothered to learn how all this works.
I can understand that we do not have all the knowledge in our hand for a subject but argumenting with others without willing to do some research and/or test about the subject and even wrtiing bs like many did here , sorry but i can't accept ...
