Cant play LAN on 1.6, It ends up giving me the same IP
I go to create a LAN game for me and my friends on CS 1.6 and HLDS always gives me the same IP...
Its very weird because when my friends try to join it doesnt work but when i try on the same device it just works immediately. Like i said the IP is always the same. its 192.168.56.1:27015, ive heard this was called a "loopback" idk if im right, ive also read alot about this issue since ive been looking into how to fix it since some time now and it seems like HLDS is just giving me my LocalHost IP instead of the "" Loopback "" My friend has the same game version as me (We both use the non-steam version) since I sent him the game file straight from my pc, and on his pc everything works fine, he can create HLDS servers and we can play togather flawlessly. How can i fix this issue

Thanks in advance.

192.168.56.1 is a private address; it cannot be accessed from the internet.

On your router, you can setup something called "port forwarding": you basically tell the router to forward the port "27015" (you didn't say whether it's TCP or UDP, so just do it for both) to your PC (which is probably that 192.168.56.1 box).

Then, check the router for the EXTERNAL IP address. Your friends have to use that one to connect to you.

You can also literally google for something like "what is my ip" to find your external IP.

LAN not Online, and we usually dont use a router we just use a Personal hospot from one of out phones, it more convenient and like i said it doesnt seem to be a router issue because my fried has the same setup and everything and it just tells him the IP from HLDS itself (from that little window it opens up)

No experience with HLDS myself but Valve itself states it recommends a reverse engineered replacement.

https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Half-Life_Dedicated_Server
Warning:
HLDS is no-longer actively updated, and only receives occasional engine and security updates.
Workaround:
ReHLDS is highly recommended for additional security and bugfixes. This is a server-side executable replacement; clients do not need to modify their installation to connect to severs running ReHLDS.

Normally I would never link to external software links without a warning but Valve is the one approving its usage so it should be in the clear.
