Game Awards 2024 Why?
Why cant we vote through steam and instead have to go to third party website? If you put this up on STEAM front page why cant you integrate voting through steam?

The Game Awards is not the same thing as The Steam Awards.
Steam does its own Award voting thing a bit later iirc
Why associate with "The Game Awards" at all is my question. Jeff Keely's a scumbag. I hope Steam is getting paid big bucks for that.

Geoff Keighley, or Jeph Keely? One of them wrote several Valve game behind the scenes books. The other is a fictional character who died in Game Clam 2.

Geoff Keighley

This one, obviously, since he's the one who runs the game awards. Couldn't be bothered to look up the right spelling. ::shrug::

100% Agree so this thing is nothing more than an attempt to attract attention to has been event.

And yet, here you are, wanting to vote for games in the Game Awards, but through Steam, not the GA website.

You just like voting for stuff so much that you want to vote in a "has been event"?
Yeah, this is totaly wrong imho.
I have absolutely no interest in the Game Awards - 90% of the nominations have been done by journalists and the event itself is nothing more than 2 and a half hours of adverts and about 30 minutes of actual game coverage.

This is not a celebration of games and developers but a money grab off corporations and a last chance for journo's to pedestal games that gamers have rejected during the year.

i see that the journalists really got paid by squareenix. FF7 rebirth is everywere.
also, i mean for the love of "inset your deity of choice here" they have star wars outlaws in several categories. are they that desperate to try carrying ubi?

Yes here I am because this garbage is on steam.
If the rumours are true and he is trying to claim copyright on "Game Awards" then yeah Geoff Keighley is a scumbag.

Though personally I have no time for any of these so-called game journalists, so think the vast majority are either scumbags or boot lickers for the biggest publishers in the games industry.
Why do you even care, 90% of votes are coming from a jury which mainly consists of woke activists. Some of which aren't even involved in gaming at all.
I dunno about you all, but I know I can't wait to sit in front of my computer screen watching mostly ads, game devs being told to wrap their speeches up, Kermit the frog, and an entire half hour dedicated to Kojima. That's all that matters to me at the game awards.

Sadly true, they are blatantly displaying that the voices of the players don't matter to them.
