Flight Simulator not starting

After the Steam update today I now find that Microsoft Flight Simulator 40th Anniversary edition will not start. It was fine yesterday, but this evening when I click Play in the library, the entry in the list on the left shows running, but then a few seconds later it momentarily shows 100% and then the main button goes back to the green Play button.
Is this a known issue with the latest update? It seems a coincidence that all was OK until the update.

did you check the Flight Simulator forum to see if anyone had the same issue, most people here have never played Flight Simulator or own Flight Simulator

Not the MS FlightSimulator for me, but FS22 and ARK (ASE) show the same behavior for about a week now

However, I did not find where I could find a log file from Steam (aka graphic problems or banned or so), for example, nor where I could report this specifically to Steam.

Thanks for the advice. I’ve posted over in the correct forum. Interesting to see that I’m not alone in this behaviour although my symptoms are new today

by me a korrupt NVMe was the problem - never (NEVER) use a drive for Win AND Linux (Win cannot (ok, don't want to) turn the drive korrekt off.
