Downloads say "No Internet Connection"
Is this happening to anyone else? Anything I try to download, fails, and says "no internet connection", or "retry download".
I've cleared my download cache, restarted Steam and my PC, but still nothing. The rest of Steam seems to be working fine, and my internet is fine everywhere else - Except when I try to download.

Windows 11 perhaps?

Sometimes that thing decides your WiFi connection is not good enough and thinks it has limited use, so deactivates a lot of connectivity to avoid costs...

You may want to google that.

Also check if the app is allowed to have internet access in case you have an AntiVirus software.

Thanks! I'll look into that. I've had the same everything for years now (antivirus, steam, pc, internet provider, ect), this is just out of the blue.

Still no fix. I have Windows 10 and I've tried all I know to try. I've since deleted everything Steam from my pc, all games, the application itself, everything, had my internet service provider come out and they did replace the router and all that's changed is now I can't even install Steam because it says I have no internet, even though I literally was just able to download it and bring up YouTube. A point of note is that Epic Games won't start now either. It just loads and loads until it times out and says "connection error".
Could this mean my service provider is to blame? They said they don't throttle my internet, I asked, and I've never had this problem before.
I've disabled my Firewall and then tried, I've tried between wifi and ethernet, and, I almost forgot, I tried my cellphones hotspot with no luck (i was able to bring up youtube normally though).
After that last part, It would seem to be on my PC's end, but It's beyond me.

Tomorrow I plan to call my internet provider and see if they recently updated things and It's now blocking Steam and Epic Games. From there I guess take my PC to a shop. This is ridiculous and doesn't make any sense. One day It's all fine, the next Steam wouldn't download an update, and here we are like 4-5 days later.
If I find the problem I'll post an update. If you believe in a god, pray for me :steamsad:

Just some suggestions I have, might not work.

Try to make a new user on windows and see if steam installs and downloads there. Maybe some setting on your current user is interfering.

If you have any IRL friend or family member with a laptop that can come over to your house and install steam using your wifi to check if it's actually your internet connection or your PC that has issues.

If you have any usb sticks you could try making a portable installation of linux and see if you can install steam and download games there.

Does the Steam Mobile App work on your phone?

hi, same problem here for a few days, and nothing help. Steam for all downloads said no connection, epic games loading forever, gamepass not working. Downloads from UbiConnect and EA Play working normal, same for downloads through all browsers like Chrome and Mozzlila.
It's definitely not a problem with internet, because on other laptop and my other PC Steam, Epic, Gamepass working fine, using same internet connection/ Wi-fi.

I fixed it----by doing a PC reset.
I didn't wipe it all. I kept windows and personal files, or something to that effect when prompted. After doing this and connecting to internet via ethernet cable, I did have to run troubleshooter and it said it repaired my ethernet port.
Secondly, because of a video I saw somewhere along, I searched for Microsoft Visual C++ in my apps and repaired all that I could (one or two didn't give the option), and one of those did need repaired.
At the end of the day, I don't know what was wrong, but maybe something here can save others from a reset. Thanks to those who tried to help!
