Legislation to force ownership of Steam games by the customer.
When you buy a game on steam, steam will say "you now own this game" even though that isn't true. You don't own your steam games. But i think you should own them. There should he legistlation that compels Valve to give the customer full ownership of the game. Meaning that I can share my downloaded games with my friends, and I can transfer ownership of my games if that's my desire.

Seems like there needs to be a big reckoning for digital storefronts. Customers deserve more respect than what they get now. I should own the games that I paid for. Valve should not own the games that I paid for. There should be a new law to rectify this.

You're right OP. This is yet another issue, Steam has not, will not address.

Steam only? Nope.

Microsoft licences Windows to you it is not sold.

The Microsoft Game Store licences games to you they are not sold.

Xbox digital games are licenced to you they are not sold.

Xbox physical discs are sold BUT the content on them is licenced.

Steam SSA has no legal significance. None EULA, never has. And non gaming clients services. Cause you forced to accept excessive one EULA sometimes (often? As it was before) counterfeit Steam/EGS/etc one EULA.
Actually, that's not true. It all certainly holds significance as long as it is within local laws. A EULA doesn't trump local laws, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have significance. In the end it's an agreement people signed and when it's within the laws, that agreement will be upheld.

Which is the funny part, they very often *are* within those laws. And if there are parts that don't fit, that doesn't really matter cause people won't do anything about it anyway. Since people much rather create drama online as so often shown.

Will you be linking your court case where you won against Valve to validate your belief?
