Steam link solution
Hey all.

I'm moving into a new house. In my old house my PC(I have a simulator cockpit for racing/flight) was near my TV and I could run a HDMI with extender to my tv.

My new setup my rig will be in its own room and I will be putting the TV on the first floor in the living room.

I have never used a steam link before but have heard about it. What are my options is any? I still have to worry about the controller as well I guess.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks.

"A Steam link" sounds like you're referring still to the old hardware variant which is obsolete (and would limit you to 1080@60), "Steam Link" is now an app that needs to run on,

<failing store link to .../app/353380/Steam_Link>
Windows, macOS, Linux
Apple iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV
Android TV, Tablets, and Phones
Raspberry Pi 3, 3+, and 4
Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro
Controller support tends to be okay I believe as long s the hardware you'd be running that app on can support it, but that's not from direct experience; personally still have an old hardware Steam Link connected and have used it with both a Steam controller and an Xbox 360 one which works fine. Likely far too limited spec-wise for a new setup, though -- if you can/could still find one.

I've been using a Steam Link for years. Stream quality & reliability depend son the network, it can easily be made to work even if you're sensitive to inout lag.

Now I'm using my Deck for, among other things, streaming & it still works well.

So I searched amazing and found the steam link still for sale but I also found this:

Might read into this and see how that goes. I'm still confused on how I would get my controller to work. I have a Nintendo switch controller. I'm sure I can Frankenstein something together.

Don't need to hack anything. Just Bluetooth-pair it with your PC and Steam will do the rest.
