You gave away your login info and the account was hijacked.

https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/6639-EB3C-EC79-FF60

Steps to take NOW:
1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
3. Change passwords from a trusted/clean computer.
4. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
5. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)

Please review how you are logging into Steam, you somehow gave away your log-in information. This could of been due to the computer being compromised and redirecting to a fake log-in, or you using a third party site to log in to Steam.

Once you are sure you have regained control, you can start trading again. Please triple check any trades you make to be sure they are going to the correct account.

After you have secured the account, please edit your profile back to normal, if it was altered by the hijacker/scammer.

Looks like you might want to be looking in a mirror when you say that something is very wrong.

So your steam account was compromised, the hijacker refunded everything, and you're blaming EA... Why?

Oh? How so?

No one can brute force accounts or guess passwords or authenticator codes. Both of which are used on the Steam and EA app.

The OP gave away login info.

The mental gymnastics in that opening post O_o

No, OP, EA has nothing to do with your Steam account being compromised. At some point you gave your Steam login info away, probably for the chance of a 50 USD gift card or other obvious scam.

Steam is just really insecure. There is even a video being promoted on YT right now discussing how to commit fraud on Steam to get delisted games for free. Steam hasn't fixed it, and they haven't even issued a take down on the video yet either.

No, it isn't. At all. Nobody gets into your account unless you let them.

Yup. But that means taking responsibility and that's a no-go nowadays.

So OP blaming EA because they couldn't help themselves compromising their own by logging into scam sites?

- Trading / gambling scam sites.
- Vote for my team scam link.
- I sent you $50 / you won a prize scam link.
- You have pending ban / I mistakenly report you scam link.
- Try my demo *chat DM* / here free stuff virus download.
- oh no want to cheat in game download cheats off random site, now got virus.
- oh no want pirate stuff, and got virus.

Yeah totally EA fault...

There's lots of things promoted on YT. Doesn't make them actually true.

Like all the 'Steam game unlockers' that have been around for a decade.

And valve can log all activations with timestamps and ban Accounts which have to do with fraudulent activities at any time they want.

It doesn't make them untrue either. This one appears to be very true, and it doesn't even need special tools. Just a chrome browser and a paypal account.

Steam is just incredibly insecure.

That doesn't make it better. In fact, I would say it makes it worse. If means they don't know how to fix it, so they just use bans as a crutch instead. And if they lack the ability to prevent such basic exploits, then it means they don't have the know-how to prevent more complex and malicious exploits.

Sure along with other scam sites you decided to login to, and blame EA for it. :blockmongler:
