These games give you marketable items for free. And you dont have to "play" them either, at least in case of Banana. You open it once every 3 hours for a few seconds and close it.
Getting stuff for free isnt a scam. And it's not gambling, since again, you get the items FOR FREE.
Gambling involves you putting in money with a chance of getting anything.
you dont have 1000 banana anymore
is it any different to buying swap cards that had a stick of gum....
not sure what law is being broken....
although
some gaming gambling laws might come into play
if there is speciality items being given away...
someone with better knowledge might have more to say.....
at the very least a low effort copycat designed to make money.
No, it isn't. You can get free Banana items and put them on the market. Good luck selling any though.
You don't think this absolute FLOOD of similar games on the steam store isn't shady and odd?
i am not simply referring to that game, i am referring to the "copycats" afterwards.
No, it's not "shady and odd". They all work the same way. You don't lose anything.
You get stuff for free.
At the very least they seem like wastes of space
They're even worse "games" then unity asset flips
you need to look on the market for banana
7c is the current sale price i just saw while looking
at something else just before i posted on this topic.....
and its a scrolling 7c on the market.... sold sold sold sold sold...
I hope steam does something like make all the bananas non tradeable on the market and they can only be traded person to person, that'd be cool.
Again, you don't lose anything. If whoever made this makes money, good for them.
I have looked at it. I don't know who's buying them or who is getting them sold, but I have put a lot of them on the market for quite a long time and haven't sold a single one of them. That's what I mean.
it does seem odd that someone or anybody can make
something that seems to be like a sophisticated
form of gamer begging...
but what laws are being broken...
it doesnt seem right to me either... but i just cant work out why
plenty of games that are overwhelmingly negative on steam but its not illegal for them to be there.
But i think these are strange as they cross over into actual real world money as their "incentive" to "play"
Why are you saying "good for them" for people making money off of lazy games? you're okay with this?
Oh i see, you have the potential for profit off it, you have bias!
"I have looked at it. I don't know who's buying them or who is getting them sold, but I have put a lot of them on the market for quite a long time and haven't sold a single one of them. That's what I mean."
Interesting thing you accuse me of.
I haven't profited from it at all actually. And even if I did, it would be in the range of a couple of cents.
But again, I didn't. If you just don't feel like having a constructive discussion and just throw around accusations just say so.
They had a simple idea and it worked out. Instead of being envious you could just say they had a good idea - good for them.
Would you be envious of someone reselling water bottles 50 percent increase in profit? No you'd think its scummy.
My gripe is not the money they have made purely, it is how this crap fills up the steam game store and how it has next to no value for a game.
And yes you DO have bias even if you haven't sold anything, you have partaken in the "game" you have put items up for sale, theses are not accusations, these are true.
