Will steam ever do a official parter ship whit gog galaxy?

Would be nice if you could get your gog galaxy library into steam

GoG used to have a function that allowed you to redeem Steam games on GoG if the dev allowed.

AFAIK, they discontinued it. As far as a partnership goes, I doubt they will since GoG whole thing is absolutely no DRM.

Why would GoG do that? That would only get people off their platforms where they announce sales and other stuff like that.

idk why they would do that but i would really enjoy having my gog game in my steam library so i can buy a game when it come out on epic game and stop using epic game whiout having to rebuy the game

Yeah, GOG Connect. Was pretty nice, i got about 50 free GOG games out of that.
Started strong but got less and less over the years till nothing new was added for like 2 years.
And then they just shelved the entire program.

I'm guessing they were just hoping of developer/publisher good will to allow the games to be redeemed.

Unfortunately they overestimated that goodwill.

Digital Rights Management.

There are various forms of it but they all do the same thing, require an internet check to verify you own a legit copy of the game.

All of the games on GoG are able to be downloaded as a separate installer(like a CD) and never require any internet connection to install or run. This is why a lot of big AAA releases don't release on the GoG.

Copy protection in short. Games with DRM need a client or account or similar to start.
DRM fre games can just be started with the exe without the need for a account or a client.

Not to mention neither GoG nor Steam can give you copies of games they don't own. Any developer could do this if they wanted, but most don't give away their games for no reason.

Then why do you not understand that Valve has no reason to allow you to play games via Steam that they haven't gotten to take their cut of the price from?
