Blurry/Filtered Game Covers
I noticed this the other day on someone's game collector showcase and I've seen it again today on someone's profile, where the game cover is seemingly filtered like this https://imgur.com/a/EbTFUrZ

Not sure if I've missed something or why this is happening.

I hope this is just a technical error/oversight in its implementation because if they are filtering game covers of titles I own then that is beyond ludicrous.

I'm not even getting the warning on these games because they are already owned yet CK3, Cyberpunk and AC Odyssey are all cover-filtered to me on my games list and recently played.

It is even worse because, at least in my case, even by deactivating all filters everything is still filtered.

Wow, even Muse Dash is filtered. If basic games are being censored to everybody, filter activated or not then that surely isn't going to sit well for the developers/publishers. I know it's not within the store but in terms of seeing friend's games, a loss of visibility for these games could impact their sales and reach.

I noticed that thing too, on my own profile! Random games. If I check it on my profile page OK, but checking the owned games, recetnly palyed titles all are blurry. Predator Hunting Grounds, Duke Nukem Forever, Life Is Strange 2(!),

The blur is the content preferences that were updated and turned on when Valve did Tuesday maintenance. Silent update. The content settings were broken for 12 hours afterwards.

Check the boxes to turn it off again.

People without accounts or users who don't log into their account to view those pages will have the blur since the settings are account bound.

What if they are partially blurred when viewing in the Steam Client for Desktop?

Those are games that have not had their assets updated back when Valve updated the Library UI back in 2019. This is not the same as the mature content blur.

You can change them whenever you want.

Thanks, I did some digging and found this Reddit article that pretty much says what you said. I appreciate you explaining this.
