XP to Windows 7 was tolerable, Windows 7 to 8 to 8.1 and even to 10 is also tolerable, but the real pain is when you have to install windows 11 and above, absolutely not Windows anymore.
You got these easy options.
A) Upgrade to Windows 10 for free.
B) Switch to Linux for free.
C) Dual boot
The Steam client runs on Chromium as does its browser as does 99% of gaming clients nowadays.
Its the most common server and browser backend in the world.
So the Steam client will no longer work on Windows 7/8 come next year because Chromium will no longer work on Windows 7/8.
So you can go and complain to Microsoft and GOOGLE.
Also, good luck with that "class action lawsuit" so many people LOVE to throw around.
Its literally baked in the Steam TOS that they may change the system and OS requirements for using Steam in the future.
You have to AGREE to that when making an account.
So good luck explaining that in court.
I know, that's why not upgrading is not about being poor.
Steam could at least, do the effort to offer us a Legacy system that will still work on our prefered system.. Stop forcing us to do things we dont want damn!!
Forced Mask, Forced Vaxx, Forced to changed Operating system for something Dump or not friendly users ( Linux).
For real Valve are doing jerky move here.. i will no longer buy any game on steam now. why bother with them anymore?..
I hope you realize that Chromium, the reason why Steam will force the update is used by nearly all major gaming clients. GOG Galaxy, EPIC, EA APP, UBISOFT CONNECT and so on.
Meaning all those services will discontinue Windows 7/8 support in the future.
Valve doesn't earn billions each day.
Valve is worth about 8 billion right now.
Your numbers are more in line with Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet... Trillion dollar companies.
Lol. Hire a couple programmers to keep a discontinued version of Windows safe and keep a stable version of chromium working on it. Good one. If you could actually do that yourself then you should be a billionaire. Nobody can do that.
And billions a day? You keep delivering the good jokes.
Why do you think they're being so generous?
