I opened up a ticket with Steam support and I am going back and forth with them in hopes they will take action.
The same time some of the socom community that has been burnt by him have already been taking action and flagging his game on the store page.
This is really crazy to believe Steam cannot protect its users from developer abuse.
I don't know if it will be possible but if Steam cannot do anything then my plan is to meet with a lawyer to seek damages, defamation, and possibly a fraud suit. I have been using Steam since it launched, this profile has 14+ years of clean gaming until a developer who acts like a child decides to place a ban on me, a week after I played in his community hosted game night (which I won btw 1st place in 2 out of 3 games, all recorded on YouTube, proof of no cheating).
Thank you I will look this up
That sort of thing is rare, but it does happen.
I looked it up. Thanks for the share. Seems justice was served. Justice is needed more so now with this developer.
What happened with your situation? I don't think anyone should be banned for reporting abuse/harassment by a developer.
He's just playing the victim card. He's one of the known ones who breaks the rules and goes surprised Pikachu face when he gets punished for it.
Oh okay.
Is it unwise though? If a player constantly changes their name to scam people, I think everyone would want to know about it. If anyone has been personally attacked it has been me and many others from the same developer abuse. It has nothing to do with our comments he is using his power to ban people who have different views. Including playing other games he really dislikes, and/or giving his game a bad review. I have reached out to Steam and awaiting their investigation/response.
And your post shows exactly the reason why no such feature will ever exist
