Developer System Ban Abuse Tracer Interactive Task Force Avoid Future Purchases
I have been banned from a game called Task Force made by Tracer Interactive or a player that goes by Redline. I reached out to know why I was banned and they just doubled down and kicked me off the forums. There are two reasons this happened.

The developer doesn't like people playing competitor titles and wants to dictate who to let play his game. The game was public for purchase on August 2022, little did I know the developer has a history of acting like a child and banning people who have negative things to say about his game. The thing is I did my best to support it, avoided the drama, and tried to boost the game. Unfortunately, the developer felt the need to attack my steam profile, making it personal. I don't take lightly to my 14 years+ on steam having a ban on it, looking like I was cheating. The facts are, there was no cheating, I even played in the same discord room where the developer had a live chat with everyone, and that is the first time I met him and heard his child like tone.

Despite all that I still ignored what he was saying and I was just playing the game as a gamer with 30+ years, I don't care for the drama. So that community night streamers were streaming, I recorded the match, I muted the mic (which I regret) because it would have let everyone hear the child tone developer speak and curse other games/gamers because they chose to play other games and not his game. So the second possible reason I was banned was because I posted the YouTube videos of the community night on the discord in the stream chat section (where previous gamers shared their handles). Is this wrong? Okay lets say it is. Fine, kick me out of the discord, but to go after my Steam account is personally attacking me. A simple delete or ask me to take it down, heck ask me to delete your game from my Steam library if you don't want me playing, and I would have done so.

So I did some more research and found out the developer has been on a dictatorship spree with banning people even for reviewing his game negatively. It is unfortunate, but a developer acting like a child will soon see everyone has abandoned his project.

With that said, I plan to do my own justice. Redline wants a website he will get a developers to avoid listed website, more YouTube videos on the subject, and more.

There is good news in all of this, I will be putting more support towards indie projects and developers that deserve it.

Has any developer you have known to abuse the ban system? Steam takes it very lightly and doesn't have much of a say, but as a community we can work together to create a developers to avoid list to help new users avoid toxic developers.

You NEED to report this developer. This dev has been mistreating people for YEARS. Even before it went live on Steam. He has been revoking keys, banning people, and now issuing fraudulent Steam game bans for quite some time. If more people report this person with detailed information eventually action will be taken. Go to Steam support webpage and report your game ban!

I opened up a ticket with Steam support and I am going back and forth with them in hopes they will take action.

The same time some of the socom community that has been burnt by him have already been taking action and flagging his game on the store page.

This is really crazy to believe Steam cannot protect its users from developer abuse.

I don't know if it will be possible but if Steam cannot do anything then my plan is to meet with a lawyer to seek damages, defamation, and possibly a fraud suit. I have been using Steam since it launched, this profile has 14+ years of clean gaming until a developer who acts like a child decides to place a ban on me, a week after I played in his community hosted game night (which I won btw 1st place in 2 out of 3 games, all recorded on YouTube, proof of no cheating).

It can, they're just very slow at doing it. Google Domina if you want to see the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that led to a ban.

Yeah, that's a good example of a developer meltdown that led to a game being removed from Steam.

That sort of thing is rare, but it does happen.

I looked it up. Thanks for the share. Seems justice was served. Justice is needed more so now with this developer.

I am surprised OP didn't get a ban for this because I did when I explained the very same thing the other day.

What happened with your situation? I don't think anyone should be banned for reporting abuse/harassment by a developer.

He's just playing the victim card. He's one of the known ones who breaks the rules and goes surprised Pikachu face when he gets punished for it.

It's unwise to post a developer's nickname unless you want to start an attack on person, which is not allowed. And if you think that you have been subjected to a coordinated attack on your profile (although this seems unlikely to me when there is a disabling of comments and profile rewards), then you should contact Steam support. If everything is really as you described, then the developer will receive more than one report and the administration will pay attention to it.

Is it unwise though? If a player constantly changes their name to scam people, I think everyone would want to know about it. If anyone has been personally attacked it has been me and many others from the same developer abuse. It has nothing to do with our comments he is using his power to ban people who have different views. Including playing other games he really dislikes, and/or giving his game a bad review. I have reached out to Steam and awaiting their investigation/response.

I thought it did, and is called Reddit?

I think he is correct that we should have a review/rating system for devs/publishers. I would also see why it would be bad for coordinated attacks.
