Haven't Given Steam Money In Over A Year
Feels good man. The reason: Community moderation, dishonest and defaming bans, junk games, more importantly failure to protect the consumer from EA scams.

Steam's totally anti-consumer. Until they turn it around Epic and others get my dollar.

The only people who lament actually good free games being given to gamers, points earned to assist with future discounts on games, are shills from a competitor. Epic is superior. The only clout steam users can use is "forums."
No, that's not true. I use all platforms and launchers, including Epic, but I still see the business model Epic utilises as a bad thing for gaming and gamers. Their strategu is not to further gaming or promote devs, but to hurt other stores. It's the Walmart principle.

The main problem Epic still has is their lack of relevant catalog. As long as they keep a limited catalog that doesn't cater to people outside the mainstream and popular stuff, they'll never become real big. Just as GoG limits themselves.

And please stop this stupid nonsense black & white "us vs them" thinking you're doing. It's ridiculous. The world is all kinds of grey. Plenty of people here have simply opinions without any stupid agenda behind it.
oh ffs.

The strategy of Epic is to get people on their platform.
Epic is trying to create a competitive market, and Valve is doing everything it can to prevent it, so the only one out there trying to "hurt" other stroes, is Valve.

Epic is not the one using anti-consumer practices to eliminate price competition..that's Valve.

Epic is not the one threatening to de-list games if a developer sells them cheaper elsewhere...that's Valve.

Epic is not the one gouging developers for 30% of each sale...that's Valve.

Epic was not the one fined $4.000.000 for willful copyright infringement...that was Valve

Epic is not the one that was finned $1.600.000 for illigal GEO blocking...again...that was Valve.

Epic is slowly adding to its library, whereas Valve does not give a rat's ass what you sell, or if you even finish what you're selling as long as Gabe gets his cut.
If you were to take a step back and actually look at STEAM's library, you would see just how much of it is total garbage.

Valve / STEAM is worse for games and gamers than any other thing or service out there, so please, spare us such ridiculous comments and claims.

Anyway, I think the game developers also do not like it that they cannot play offline, because it seems like such a small feature to implement. Especially for games that were already functioning offline. Because clearly, those games could function offline if they were already functioning offline in the past, and therefor it makes no sense to add an online requirement to it, if that requirement isn't strictly necessary. And why would it be necessary if they could already play the game offline in the past? Did they add an online component in the single player mode that affects the game play? An element that the game simply could not function without?

Obviously, those people are going to be dissapointed if they suddenly need to pay for internet to play their game. Previously, they could play it offline without internet, and now they suddenly need to pay for an internet connection. Isn't that unfair towards them? You could argue that they are discriminated against to play their game, based on whether or not they have permanent access to internet or not.

I was gifted games or bought off Greenman. :)
You're still supporting those devs by playing their games. Those devs are still working with Valve or those keys would not have worked.

Welcome back to circle of Steam that you think you're not in.

Steam didn't get the money so that's cool.

Didn't you post this a couple of months ago?

I'm a little confused what your goal is here. Do you want some kind of commendation? Should we throw you a party?

Curiously, your game ownership badge last updated in June, and you own Helldivers 2 which came out last February. I suppose you could have purchased keys via a third party.

So, congratulations? I guess? I suppose if it means a lot to you, that's what matters.

Attention mainly. There's an ubisoft studio/office near by in Toronto. I don't care for ubisoft but I won't exactly be in their lobby and as the visitors walk by tell them how bad ubisoft is. I would likely by down the street at another company's enjoying their wares with my money. I don't have to spend energy protesting, I don't have to wave people down to look at me, I simply carry on.

I didn't need to know any of this. This is your personal issue although I appreciate you sharing this as it gives us a picture of your mental state.

Gaming is a first world issue. There are far more important things going on in the world for someone to make a big deal out of this.

It is a good thing you are voting with your wallet, though. If you really want change that is where you hit them at ... the pocket.

Absolutely, though if your cause is unpopular, don't get upset if others don't join you or your target doesn't even notice your protest.

Yeah. byut that only works if you were spending a fair deal to begin with. I mean there's a big difference between an every day regular, and a once a month occasional who only ever gets the cheapest thing on the menu.

If you buy a game on Xbox can you migrate it to Sony? Why would another company take on all the cost and burden of all your games and providing you the bandwidth when you didn't even buy it from them?

it doesnt matter what you can and cant do at the moment...

i just think we should be able to migrate...

the cost would be made minimal
if you are employing intelligent accountants...
