I have been having problems lately with purchases via ideal or very delayed purchases

Hello. I notice that lately there have been some problems or delayed with ideal.
For me, ideal works via interbanking, which means that the money is immediately debited from my account. Normally I received a confirmation message immediately or shortly after.
but I now notice that it happens last 4 or 5 months.
that I have to worry about the fact that I didn't receive anything.
I find it worrying somehow.
I don't want to sound impatient either, but I find it remarkable.
that it happens so often lately.
I usually pay with the steam launcher, I notice that it hangs after payment.
I just made the payment via internet browser.
but nothing
I don't know where to post this message.
maybe more people have problems with it.
If that is the case, more people may have problems with it and report that Steam can do something with it. I am from the Netherlands.
but that wouldn't be the problem, would it?

Problems with iDeal have to be discussed with your bank in question.
They can contact the payment supplier (in this case iDeal)

For a next transaction try an browser guest mode session instead of your regular. Adblockers and other security can mess with the redirect process. If it works you either have to troubleshoot which one it is or simply use guest mode for payments.


I had an issue with Paypal on mobile due to system lockdown and enhanced security which cause the are you a robot verification check from Google (ReCaptcha) to not go further than the submit screen. Lowered security and suddenly I am human again according to Google.

Same problem I just tried adding 25 euro to my steam account balance with IDEAL the money is taken from my bank account but Steam still lists it as pending. I did the transaction through the Steam Desktop Client it is still saying working after 10 minutes.

Yup I put in ticket, my amount also get subtracted ffrom the bank

I recommend not to use Ideal anymore for transactions to Steam after 2 hours of it pending Steam now has even removed the transaction from purchase history but the money is still taken from my bank account. My own bank says that Steam does have the money. So might Steam be trying to scam people or is it Ideal that is scamming people?

I don't know what Ideal really is, but do you guys in the Netherlands not use proper, American debit/credit cards too?
Such as Visa, MasterCard, Amex?

We do this here in Bulgaria (Eastern Europe) and it works well, for lots of things - including Steam Store. :)

EDIT: Ideal is going to be renamed to Wero now!?
What a curiously ridiculous name. :)
Means a common cleaning chemical here in Bulgaria. :-D

Ideal is used for internet payments in the Netherlands and I think also in other European countries.
it is the easiest payment there is.
when you use internet banking here.
the transfer is then immediately made directly via the bank.
I use Ideal for a lot of orders, purchases and payments online.
I do not have and do not use a credit card.
I also don't think it is a thing where I live that many people use a credit card, there may be some, but not many, I think many use Ideal for payment.
there are also other payment options.
but I find it the easiest way and it has gone well so far

Well I just received my game a day later, but my advice is put in a ticket, steam is normally pretty friendly with the CS. Specially if you have proof of payment.
