Switch Pro controller vibration

I recently started using the Switch Pro controller on steam, but I heard that apparently the controller is supposed to vibrate when I press the d-pad, but this doesn't happen. It vibrates when I press the triggers but not the d-pad. Was this something that was removed in a update or am I doing something wrong?

I'm not sure, but I believe that must be coded into the game itself (when you press a particular button, the controller vibrates). So maybe it only works in Switch games?

From what I am told it is supposed to vibrate while navigating the menu in Steam itself not just certain games. I am not getting that vibration while navigating through Steam
