Do Steam suspend/delete inactive account?

I'm asking because one of my friends is concern that he will lose his account due to inactivity.

He told me that he lost his first steam account long time ago due to being inactive and is worried about his current since he is homeless at the moment and have tons of games he doesn't want to lose.

Should he be worried?

No, don't worry bro, Steam will never delete accounts for inactivity, his account maybe got stolen or something, or he just forgot login info

If there's unusual activity on an account, they can lock it until the owner proves they're the right person, but they never delete an account without being explicitly told to (and even then, it takes a full month and they give you plenty of chances to change your mind).

Steam does not and has not ever deleted or suspended accounts for inactivity. I recovered my own account after several years of inactivity. As mentioned above, your friend either forgot their login info or the account was stolen.

Steam doesn't suspend/delete accounts due to being inactive.

AFAIK, the only game store that will do this is Ubisoft ONLY if you have no games on the account, or no active subscription. All others don't do this at all.

About your friend losing his account in the past, it may be one of these things for why he lost his account.

- Forgot the account name & email to recover it.
- He gave his account to someone & forgot. <--- This is against TOS.
- Fell for a scam online, and haven't recovered it since.
- He requested his account to be deleted & forgot.
- He got his account suspended for other reasons that breaking TOS, and forgot.

So really not much can be said as only he can try to remember, and know what actually happens to his past account.
