downloading a game without my permission

who the heck gave you permission to to start downloading warthunder when i come into my steam page , i never clicked on it to down load the game so why when i come on my steam page the download started , to top it off the pause button wouldn't work ...

well 21 yrs huh ,how long you been on steam for you to think it couldn't happen , i don't own war thunder it's not in my games library so why do i need a game patch for it a 2.8gb patch note at that , oh wait i can use it to waste space on my hard drive .... so what exactly is ur 20 yrs of service for

Been using Steam for 19 years. Never once has a game install itself and certainly not one that I've not got a license for. The install button has to be pressed, whether that's in Steam or via the smart device app.

You'd think if this was a widespread issue, then people would be complaining about it regularly...

i just looked its not in my profile and i never played it 3.9 hrs its not in my library either can u see if there is another account like mine ,show me a copy of that game in my profile cause this is getting crazy how is it u see it but i dont

all i did was look at preview of game i didnt download it so how is it i played it for 3.9 hrs , just by quick look at it , i look at all games i dont get downloads from them this is rediculous u know what forget it take my post down i guess i wont be checking out games here anymore if thats gonna happen thanks

You wrote a review of the game.

the review was even done 23 July @ 12:05 pm this year, saying "good game". unless someone have access to your account, which i find hard to believe, if the game download an update on your side then you most probably had it installed. unless there is one or other bug in steam

Yep OP, you played it and reviewed it, so if it wasn't you then someone else has access to your account on your PC.

I believe OP is very much mixing "installing itself" with missing the fact there's Scheduled Downloads in the Downloads section of their client.

They could've just selected "Only update this game when I launch it" to avoid that;

As far as I remember, Gaijin Entertainment has a separate launcher responsible for updating their products, and Steam counts it as in-game activity when it's running. It might still be on your system, even if you uninstalled the game through Steam.
