It's not just that. Ok, maybe you can help with another thing:

I used to be able to scroll down, if wanted to upload some ancient picture. Now the whole new screenshot window doesn't show old non uploaded screenshots at all, only recent ones and uploaded. Any works around?

If their files are still saved on your PC, they show up in between the uploaded screenshots. I've noticed some from over a year ago.

Edit: Scratch that. They appear to be broken previews, which cannot be uploaded.

it does at least actually open fast now and not blur the images beyond recognition

The screenshot feature now lags like crazy. It was slow enough as it is when it started reading screenshots off the internet instead of locally.

Now it's just so much worse.

When I take screenshots Steam freezes upon exiting the game, and I have to close it from task manager. Not a fan.

I hate the updated screenshots. Yesterday, while playing some games, it took MINUTES for me to take a screenshot with F12. I'd press F12 & like 3 minutes later it would show.

And now, it takes forever to share screenshots. The damn program usually freezes every time I try or it takes literally minutes.

This is why I hate updates. We're promised something better & almost always it's worse.

At first glance having to click one extra time to open local folder seems like a downgrade, but previous iteration of screenshot manager opened it in a MINIMIZED WINDOW so I guess having those two clicks being closer together is technically an improvement.
What's really annoying is that double click on a screenshot opens it in another Steam window instead of your system's image browser.
Old (before Library redesign) screenshot manager UI was so much better. It's like this new garbage is designed by some brainrotted zoomer who has only ever experienced intrusive social media apps and doesn't know any better.
And yea it gets laggier with every iteration for now reason.
