Steam Paypal purchase impossible since a leat a year

Hello,

It's been now more than a year i'm unable to buy on steam through Paypal

I have not registered my paypal account into Steam (not even a credit card in fact) and each time i try to buy something with paypal, i got an error message "An unexpected error has occured, Your purchase has not been completed. Please contact support"

I checked my paypal account, and it's ok (i can make purchase on other site with it) and i can make purchase on steam using a credit card

I tried through website, steam app, at home, at work etc It's like Paypal have been banned to use from my account

Any help or advice ?

Oh ! I found a chargeback dated from 2017 ...

Linked to a paypal transaction ! Now i need to know how to lift the restriction, my bank and paypal won't treat a transaction that old, i reopened my ticket and asked them to tell me how to lift the restriction, if i need to pay back this item i will, i really need to recover the use of paypal on my account

So support was correct. After you got that message, you should have looked at your history.

That going to be an issue since it's that old normally it's like 30 ~ 90 days limit, and since this is like 7 years I don't think they can revent anything.

My suggestion if you like which going be annoying, is using alt account to gift to your main account for paypal, but that best can do really since option be disable by support since 2017.

Again best of luck, maybe someone at support might talk to Valve staff about it, but who knows it's a long shot in the dark which I assume they likely won't lift it.

Did you use your PayPal any time after 2017 on Steam?

No, any other buy where made with Steam cards bought AT retail or one Time use credircard

There aren't many other solutions available sadly. Support already told you no cause of the charge back.

I know chase bank has a pay in 4 feature so you may want to look into that.

You can't. Even if it you were within a viable time limit, PayPal essentially won't reverse a chargeback. This means your PayPal account is permanently burned. It can never be used with Steam again.

I just read through this thinking how sad it is that it isn't reverseable, while paypal is the most convenient option imo.

But yes it's not reversable if your account have been banned from paypal usage

I didn't paste all the content of the message, but i explained i was ready to pay back the dispute dated from 2017 to recover use of paypal

Maybe the fact i had 8 failed order attempt for Deck helped a bit
