Spacewar was made to as a demo of Steamworks. It's a legitimate game, if boring. Steam has no interest in supporting a throw away product which is why they don't make it easy to find/install.
The only complication that arises is because pirates often use it to hide the use of illegally acquired games that require Steam. Valve will not do anything just because Spacewar appears on your game list, but other users may assume you're a pirate.
I would watch my account, to see if you have any unexplained hours logged in, and worse case change your password.
