Paypal login

So i was trying to buy something but cant login.
The paypal popup opens i put in the email then complete the not a robot thing, and instead of asking for password it just resets asking for email again.
Any idea how to fix this?
PS: i can login to paypal just fine in the browser and the paypal app so im guessing its a steam bug.

If you get the demand to login into paypal when you want to buy something in the steam app, currently you have to go to your browser and buy the things there. The paypal login page will open up but in the browser it works perfectly fine. After you logged in to paypal and accepted the demand by steam, you will be verified and you can buy a couple of things via the App again before you have to do that again.

Hi there. Do you mean Browser via Smartphone? Cause I bought games for an amount of ~100€ via Desktop PC and still cant login and buy via Steam App.
Also I cant go from App to Browser?

Hi, so at first, I only bought games from Steam in the browser via pc but when the new App came out I tried to buy something via the App on my phone and it worked. Once however I got this notification that I had to verify my paypal account again for the App. That didn't work in the App so I tried to login to steam on my browser on the same device (android phone) and buy the game I wanted there. The same notification popped up, saying I had to verify my paypal account. I clicked on it and it worked perfectly fine. After that I was able to buy a couple of games in the App again, before the notification to verify paypal popped up again in the app. Seems like you have to verify your paypal account every couple of purchases and in my knowledge that verification only works in the browser. Which browser and what device is not important.

Ok exciting ... never received thwt notification. For me its just impossible to enter my Mail Adress as others stated hmm will try next time

Ok what works for me:
1) Log Out from the App
2) Restart App -> Log in via Browser
3) There it works completly fine to Log in normaly via Paypal!

After the buy it still doesnt recognize my Account through the App ... so more kind of a workaround than a fix for me.
Seems to be an Issue of either the apps, Steam or Paypal, maybe both.
Browser based, no matter whether via PC browser or the browser on the smartphone.

Such a f'in mess. Same issue. The steam mobile app, while welcome, is a dumpster fire of a user experience. With the app often requiring you to open a link twice for it to actually go to the content that got linked from browser or other source, can't login to pay. Despite it being remembered and automatic in the past, when you go to the store in browser I'm logged in, to to wishlist nope links to app that doesn't allow purchase, back to browser and add item to cart hit purchase and it asks me to log in again, and offers the oh so helpful QR code. What a joke. C'mon valve. Also the messaging in the steam chat app is horrific and super broken when attempting to type more than a couple words to someone. Get your Sh t together, perhaps use some of the millions of dollars you get from us.

The reason this doesn't work is likely simply the outdated Chromium that Steam uses as its embedded browser.

I have the same for paying via iDeal through my bank.
Bank's web portal needs a current-gen browser to work properly.
Steam's embedded browser is 2.5 years out of date.

Valve's developers should get off their sorry butts and either update their embedded browser so it's current again; or set up payments to redirect to the OS default browser.

(Actually; they should offer the 2nd anyway - because payment methods like iDeal contractually don't even allow merchants to start payment flows in embedded browsers...)
