Changing a game publisher's name.
Hey!

I'm part of an indie studio, and we're about to create the Steam page for our first game. First as a TBA, and hopefully soon we'll release an Early Access of the game. At the same time, we're discussing with some publishers (they're okay with the early access).

So my question is: we can publish the game without specifying the publisher and add it later on, right?

It is absolutely possible to change publishers details later because I have a few games that have done it for various reasons but if you want specific details on how it all works it would be better to ask in the forums meant for developers rather than here where you will mostly find regular users that have no experience with that side of the store.

Whichever account is the Steamworks partner account, please request to join the Steamworks group and ask in their discussions...

If it says the group is full, ask a moderator in the group if they can invite you to it.

I have seen the publisher/dev name removed on a whim before(specifically the game called "Stonehearth") so that shows it can be changed later.

The process to do so however is inside of DreamWorks documentation and the group Hotsauce posted.

It is definitely possible to change that information along the way. Pathea Games did it for both My Time at Sandrock and My Time at Portia.
