Trailer sound keeps replaying on steam no matter what i do
So some trailer sound keeps replaying, its the sound from rainbow 6 extraction, that multiple instances of the steam webhelper keeps playing, i have no idea how to turn it off apart from muting the app. i have restarted my pc and closed down steam a few times. any tips?

In the new update for steam, let's say you opened something in the ovarlay. maybe a YouTube video to kill time while waiting for something for example, if you just pressed the "X' on the entire thing the video is still open, so that means when the overlay get's called aka running the game, it automatically plays the video. Press Shift and tab and close the tabs individually, do NOT press the "X" on the top right corner. This is part of the ram issues the new client has had.

Pretty sure you just got to wait for the next update. There's been some substantial changes, and a lot of jank has snuck in with the update. I'm having trouble with audio from trailer videos streaming before the store page is loaded.

Happened here the same thing. I just discovered after running Windows Task Manager that Steam Client Webhelper was consuming a lot of network band, CPU and RAM.
Then i just alt + tabbed to the game i was running, and shift + tabbed the steam overlay and discovered that from the last update, the overlay opens automatically after you run any game.
So i just closed the browser inside overlay and its done.

Its a nonsense user experience and i hope that will be fixed, but for now its the way i found to solve it.

If it is ingame it is most likely on the overlay side, now you have to close to web browser or it will reopen next time.

FWIW; the latest Jul 21st beta actually changes that.
The close button now actually closes out all the browser tabs.
There's a new minimize button next to it, if you wanted the old behavior.
