Bring back the old screenshot system
Hi all.
Now it's just a disaster. All the screenshots are in a heap, it is excruciatingly difficult to find the right one.

For some reason, the default setting is "show for yourself". For what? Actually, I usually upload screenshots for friends, not for myself. And most, I'm sure, the same way.

It is necessary to show separately screenshots from each game. And now everything is shown. As a result, even my powerful computer and 300Mb / s Internet just hung.

All in all. Send everything back with screenshots. Now everything is broken, in fact.

Not being able to right click a game in the library/small mode and browse its screenshots is really aggravating. The new way is really convoluted.

Stop changing things that dont need to be changed.

Huh, was able to go through all 86 pages of your 4000+ screenshots without issue.

That aside, maybe you could clean up the screenshots at some point if you're having issues viewing them in the new screenshot viewer. Was able to browse through all mine just fine as well.

So those screenshots that have already been uploaded - there are no problems with them in the profile. The problem is when you need to upload or search for new screenshots.
out with the old, in with the new

I have no need to see my uploaded screenshots. I use the local folder as a pool to keep those I want to share yet. This can be resolved with a checkbox or two (show local / uploaded).

After each session I tend to have a cherry pick session where I reduce the set to a reasonable number and quality. The new thumbnails are a bit small, while the new right hand side is too big, especially for rapid comparisons. The new UI is also unresponsive (takes one second to load the local screenshot - my entire Windows starts in 3 seconds).

If the new UI picks up externally added / removed files, which would be nice, I can just resort to using my picture editing program to do the selections, just a feature loss with the thumbnails. The old one used a json-like file to keep track of stuff, causing occasional hiccups (removing uploaded screenshot to upload later).

For no apparent reason other than "it looked outdated, it should be Modern!" Same excuse used for awful makes-it-worse "updates" to web pages and mobile apps.

So let them fix what is broken or bad. And they climb to where everything was perfect and now there is a disaster.

The mobile application constantly breaks down and stops responding adequately. The back button does not work - if earlier I could view 200-300 games per day and buy a lot, now it’s good if I look at 10 per day. Who did they do better?

"most recent" also seems to include every screenshot that has ever been taken, from 2016 or 2023, it doesnt matter

screenshot uploading got hell of alot harder, should have kept the same with a new ui that is all

Absolutely. It's a total downgrade right now.

Just go right click on steam shortcut, go properties, find target and add line "-vgui" without quotation marks. You will (mostly) get the old UI back, including the old Overlay

I don't need 9999 ui updates in a year, this is pure trash. You can't even customize the skin anymore. No wonder skin makers give up, they hire random interns who can't optimize and test and this is the result. 999999999999 csgo skin sales and this is the best they can muster. So sad.

I mean....I could have very easily been pleased if they had fixed the back button at the very least.

What is definitely better is the quality of the thumbnails/previews. The uploading process itself has become more complicated, as if they were trying to make it more difficult on purpose. Pretty confusing.

This works, thank you!
