Now I'm wondering how long it'll take for this to trickle down to stable.
You steam folks really forked over the back button inner workings and there are still other areas its broken as well. When are the internal testers going to do their jobs instead of the community at large having to report these broken mechanics?
Pretty stupid that it's still sitting here broken lol.
No thank you. Steam is a PC client, I should't have to go anywhere else to use it properly.
Browsing the community forums in the steam client is like trying to drive a car that's missing two wheels.
Specifically you: If you were using the community forums in a web browser it would of highlighted how you misspelled shouldn't and given you the option to correct it. The steam client doesn't even do that.
Good night to you.
Go make your own thread to report your issues with the spell check. This is my thread about the back button.
I'm also having problems with parts of this new Steam client opening mostly off screen. A window will pop up for a few seconds but I can only see the very top left corner of the window so have no idea what it actually is before it closes itself.
Or you could just use -vgui while it still works.
Fun fact: the old version of the Steam client that you get that way does have functional spell checking built-in as well. Same place it's been for the last 3 or 4 years. No idea why it doesn't work in your case.
That's another known issue with the client. Specifically with display scaling on hi-DPI screens. Valve could never quite get their math right on it and there's a lot of situations where the scaling 'doubles up.'
