Why is there an APPLE layout on the Windows version of Steam?
Can someone tell us why the "close, minimize and maximize" buttons are arranged in the Mac OS layout on Windows machines? That is so off-putting

I agree, if thats the case, I'll actually get mad about that.

They aren't though?
The order is minimize; normal/maximize; close.
That's the normal Windows order.

Is the Big Picture button to the direct left of the three confusing you, maybe?

We've seen a couple reports of this but have been unable to reproduce it internally. Is there anything unusual about your setup? Which OS are you running? Do you have any Windows compatibility settings on your Steam executable? Can you post a screenshot of what your main window looks like?

<3 everyone talking about valve being slow to respond... this was literally 20 minutes and responded. I love it.

This is going to get messy, be prepared for people to start attempting to rope them into debates, arguments and ceaseless pestering about things unrelated to the apple layout issue.

ya, I hear you... and that may be why a lot of valve are choice about how or where they do.

I just wanted to make sure to appreciate them like they deserve.

Hehe, you have to remember that between users bickering about the UI and the Win7 gang trying to remain relevant no one is likely to click on a thread that is talking about Apple.

I still think the Valve dev is going to get a lot of friend requests. (if people actually visit the thread)

Someone had the Linux interface but when they restarted steam, it fixed itself. I guess something in steam is failing to identify the operating system it is installed on. Have yet to have it happen to me.

The problem fixed itself upon restarting steam, but the friends list and chats had Apple icons top left

Wow, a Valve developer actually responded here! Maybe my complaint to Support bore fruit.

As for the screenshot, upload it as Artwork then paste the URL into a reply.

How about not derailing with a disinformation campaign because you refuse to update?
