Why did Valve decide to implement this thing with 0 changes even after all the negative feedback they received? Nobody knows.
Yes, it is badly designed from a functional perspective.
Yes, it is slow.
Yes, it is hungry.
Yes, it doesn't look all that good.
Let's pray for a fix.
Instead I have icons I rarely if ever have used or will use. Whats going on?
Is that the first new feature that needs to cancel support for Win7?
Then one more reason to stop this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
- Keep it simple!
- Never change a working system!
- Do not annoy the customer with 'features' he did not ask for.
Some things just don't work anymore (back/forward buttons are the most glaring issue) and I don't like the look and layout, too many little annoyances like the new "news from steam" and notification icons/options that I DO NOT CARE about.
Broken buttons, download page that jumps around instead of staying where it is as I click to download games (yes, it jumps back up to the top no matter where I've got it positioned and it does so randomly), rather ugly UI changes, unnecessary icons added to the bottom bar and top bar, unneeded changes to the install options popup window, bad changes to the overall look and function of the UI. Steam really should start offering options to us for how the UI looks and works, give us skins to choose from or versions to choose from. I'd jump back a few years to when the interface was still uncluttered, simple, and clean even if it meant losing some of the newer "features" that I never wanted and don't use...
I Beta test lots of software (not Steam) and your statement is so very true :) For me I have an bug with Far Cry 6, my controller is dead but works in none UBI games, other than that I'm ok with the new look :)
And i would like to be able to get the classic look back. don't care how clean this look, but i like my dirty looking tavern.
