wrong, its affecting loads of people and its not constrained to just linux win 7 and win 8/8.1, win 10 and win 11 are also affected.
maybe you could stop running around the steam forum, denying and deflecting peoples issues, we dont care to hear your misinformation.
he aint right and im not falling for that weak trolling.
Many others are the same people in the Windows 7 threads, having the issues, so that's true as well since they are on said operating system.
I never claimed those on Windows 10/11 are not having issues, but just noticing where the majority posting is coming from.
I don't know if it's due to chromium seemingly to be updated or not as well, since looks like Steam is currently using Branch 4638 version 95. Released in Sept 2021 vs the old of Branch 4183 Version 85 from July 2020 from the previous client.
Either way, hope those who have issues get them resolved. Beta has a few fixes already.
and where are you seeing this?
cause last i checked on this topic and for other threads in the forum.... not many (if at all) has anyone even mentioned their OS surrounding this topic.
you got a list of these threads that "majority" mention win 7/8/8.1 and linux with little to none mentioning win 10/11?
And the largest bugs I've seen were from Linux users from reading the discussion threads, more so than any Windows users. VRAM usage of GB's for no reason? Ya, I'd say that's a big bug for linux users, wouldn't you agree?
Other threads I didn't even bother reading the rest of the way, since not bugs or issues, simply not knowing how to access the features they were used to before since layout changed some. Not really valid complaints that affect anything other than personal preference.
I used to sit around 200MB-500MB before this update, and that's with constant use.
ahh got it, you just made that nonsense up, cause you dont like that there are people still using win 7/8/8.1.
I know there's some bugs with new steam client, but thankfully I've not been affected by any of them. I know some are having memory issues, I know many linux users are having issues, even tested myself since my system is setup to dual boot Linux and Windows so encountered the weird Linux issues on Arch Linux latest kernel.
Bugs will get ironed out over time, per normal. As long as the clients not broken and I can do everything I did before, I'm perfectly fine. If I do encounter any bugs, I'll happily confirm them in a thread related to them.
Per normal though, most of the complaints are due to change. As with everything in life, most are scared and hate change for some reason, since things shift and move around and your comfort etc gets affected.
Oho. So they did actually update CEF since the UI entered public available beta then.
Well, that's something at least. Too bad its version 95. Exactly one version below the one that contained the updated version of V8 that fixes the remote code execution vulnerability to which DotA 2 also fell prey.
Either way; proof is in the pudding that the reason they couldn't upgrade Chromium before, was not Windows 7.
