Question about forum moderation
I was wondering if there was something going on with moderation these days. I'm seeing a certain rise in the amount of hateful or harassing posts made by some users these past few months.

For example...

https://steamcommunity.com/app/1043810/discussions/0/4758703365056670001/?ctp=6

Not only are those posts misleading and tarnishing the game reputation they're clearly meant as an offence toward certain people and a violation of the rules.

I hope Steam is not suggesting that the developers must take legal actions against those individuals.

Games hubs are moderated by the games devs and/or appointed moderators.
Game hubs can also have different rules than the general forums.
This isnt reddit. Grow thicker skin and learn to tolerate unpopular opinions of other people :steamhappy:

There should be layers of moderation when this fail.

People could take advantage of this and make their personal group feel like they're the target of hate crime when those events are staged. Shadow recruiting tactics like this can be a real threat.

You don't get it, do you? In the thread OP linked, people are causing others to fall into the boycotting trap by simply using the word "woke" to describe games. If we can stop that, the community would be a better place free of every form of hatred.

all you can do, is

Report the thread,

Block the poster

Move on.

No need to bring it up here in the Steam related sub-forums.

People should boycott games they don't like. It's the most basic rule of supply and demand and something the younger generation seems totally ignorant of, yet they love to complain about capitalism.
