I'd say about five years out still. Launch of next gen when Xbox goes to a Stream Box option.
Since a lot of PC games aren't coded for the xbox, it's very unlikely you'll see anywhere near the full steam library on xbox.
Streaming. That's what Xbox is going too anyway. That'll whack Nvidia as well and their Ge Force Now services.
Its a win win for MS and Xbox, but not going to be pleasant for PC users in tune with Linux and those matters.

You were there too.
Well today the A/B acquistion officially happened, and for naysayers who said it would not, a quick reminder in how it just as well can and likely will.
Moi? Nonsense. It's Friday night. Nobody is paying attention. The youngsters are going out on their dates. The air is getting cooler and crisper, the leaves are falling, the holidays will be at our door soon.
A WONDERFUL time of year.
Just trying to spread some cheer, in Xbox and Steam coming TOGETHER
Right, it would have to be Mr Newell, where in about 5 years, he'll sell, Cant hold on forever.
Which is Microsoft's end goal.
There is this teeny tiny little difference that Activision/Blizzard was a openly traded company at the stock exchange where anyone could take them over by buying the majority of stocks, which is exactly what Microsoft did.
Valve is a private company which is owned largely by Gabe Newell and its employees and is not traded on the stock exchange, which means you cant just "buy" them, or take them over.
And Gabe Newell is on record and stated multiple times that he will never sell Valve/Steam to anyone.
Of course in the end this is not a thread in any good faith and just more forced trashtalk from the OP who is pouting because he cant accept that software and hardware requirements change over time.
Oh, that isn't the reason.
Title: Gabe Newell isn't losing sleep over Microsoft and Sony's big acquisition sprees
"I don't lie awake late at night saying 'What should we do? What's our competitive response?' for something like this, because it's sort of orthogonal to any of the things that we think are interesting in terms of how Valve runs its business," Newell said.
