Hi, i just discovered ChatGpt from a friend 2 days ago and i'm very impressed with this programm so my question is is it okay to use it to write reviews for games on steam both in positive and negative?

Just write your own. It isn't that difficult to do.
is there a rule against it? no.

should you do it? absolutely not.

Do you want your review to be from your own experiences, or do you want your review to be a generic text that everyone who never played the game could also write? There is your answer.

The chances are Chat GPT will write a seemingly good looking review in a format that (a) is patently obvious it was generated by an LLM and (b) will contain mistakes or outright untruths about the game you asked it to review. So while no one will stop you, your review will be meaningless and downvoted to obscurity. But you might get a clown award or two from it. So there's that, I guess.

Why not just write the review yourself?

I use ChatGPT to organize my thoughts about what I think of a game. I give it a series of ideas, concepts, or feelings the game conveys to me, and I ask it to create a descriptive list based on the game I’m analyzing. From there, I organize myself and write a review in my own style and with my personal opinion.

Asking ChatGPT to write a review for you only serves to fill space with empty and useless content.

I don't know? It is allowed to use a text editor to write a review of the game?

You already have your answer.

The answer is yes but "responsibly". Do not tell an AI to write a review for you. The AI did not play the game. BUT you're free to use an AI to correct your words. Give it a paragraph and ask it to correct it and it will reword it a little with better grammar.

By example, this paragraph written by me above and edited by AI below:

"The answer is yes, but 'responsibly.' Do not ask an AI to write a review for you, as the AI did not play the game. However, you are free to use AI to correct your writing. Simply provide a paragraph, ask it to improve the grammar, and it will reword it with better clarity and structure."

If there is ever a reason for me to not trust game reviews it would be allowing A.I. to write a review of it.

It would lack the empathy needed to get the point across of whether you the human actually liked the game or not.

That said, I could literally see a certain percentage of humans doing this because they have become so lazy they can't do it themselves. Move on from gaming and go into writing A.I. reviews for a living instead.

Using AI to correct sentences is fine. But yes, AI is a tool that can be abused easily. Users should remain responsible when using AI. In this day and age, it's becoming hard to see if words said by someone are honest and true or not. It's the new AI age...

sure, you can do whatever you want on here, Valve doesn't care and has no standards for users.

not really, it's actually very easy to tell if its AI or not.
