The mouse icon that shows that you own a game should be to removed or hidden when you set your games to private.
There is a privacy settings option to make all of your games private so that way nobody knows what games you own but even when you have that set to private there is still a mouse icon if you own the game. Obviously your games are not really private if there is still a way for people to know if you own the game or not by looking for the mouse icon.

like others have said, thanks for making this discussion endlessly continue.
This discussion will not lead anywhere anyway. Steam is not seeing it but here's a real question. How many alts do you have? Everyone can see your pattern of double posting and repeating the same thing on second post. It sounds a little weird.

Here's an actual argument. People will TOTALLY see what they have to see even if the mouse icon was removed because again, why would you post in a forum of a game where you don't want people to know that you actually own it? Please do tell.

If anyone looked at your post history, they'd see the game you posted in and unless you bash the game for reasons, one would have to wonder why you post in a game you totally do NOT own. The mouse icon ONLY appears in the respective forums.

In short, this idea is pointless. My argument very much proved so...
Thank you for making this discussion continue for forever.

You can't just go around calling everyone that you disagree with alts. If anything you and the people arguing against removing the mouse icon removed are alts. As it was already said, you would never know what games people own because tons of players have their games on Consoles.

The mouse icon needs to be removed. That point has been very much proved.
You were proven wrong. AND do you think anyone believes that three private accounts saying the same thing or about aren't alts? Come on, now. Again, the mouse icon ONLY appears in the forum of the game you bought. This fact does matter.

If you intended to hide that you own the game, why would you post in the forum of the game? Because if you discuss the game, you already show yourself as a "fan" of the game you don't want people to know that you own. You can't fool anyone.

This is entirely why this idea >can't< work. If you actually wanted to hide, you would not talk in the forum. AND if you don't talk in the forum of the game. We would never see the mouse icon. Again, my logic is unquestionable. This idea doesn't work.

players own a game on a Console that is also on Steam and then they discuss that game on Steam or ask for help with that game on steam.
That's another issue entirely and something I have always thought was "Wrong" personally. I think that no one should be allowed to discuss a game on Steam's forums unless they own that game on Steam. I wish Steam would globally set and enforce these rules. It's just a flag to flick on for the forums for a game. I think it should be on by default for all steam games and their related forums.

You have already said your opinion multiple times and other people have already said their opinion multiple times. The two sides are never going to agree on this subject.
Yep. That's great. And I can continue to repeat my thoughts and opinions as often as I feel like I want to. I am allowed to do this. Repeating my thoughts and opinions in a steam forum thread is not a violation of any global steam forum rules. I can and will do it as long as I feel like doing it.

The only thing that you are trying to do is to keep this discussion going on for forever.

Then stop doing it.

You're the one keeping the thread alive by posting with your alternate accounts.
Then you you are the one keeping the thread alive by posting with your alt accounts. It is ridiculous to say that people shouldn't be able to make comments in Steam discussions of games that they don't own because that is how lots of people figure out whether or not they are going to buy the game or not by asking questions into discussions.

The mouse icon has to be removed.

Again, great job on trying to keep this discussion going on for forever.

Every single game hub must have at least 1 sub-forum open to all users. So, that takes care of that.

If you don't like what I say then report it to the moderators and then move on to comment something else. It's up to them to determine if what other people write violates the steam rules, not you.

Where is that written? Is there official Steam documentation somewhere that says this? I have seen multiple steam games where their entire forums are restricted to only people that own the game with nothing that non-owners can comment in.

Try having a little bit of Christmas holiday holiday spirit and end the arguing!
