Steam Hardware acceleration
if there's a previous thread i've missed can someone point me to it?
Anyways, i'm curious about the way steam handles hardware acceleration. My setup is currently janky because i'm on old hardware, but it will be useful later on when i'm tweaking the setup for my new rig. Is it possible to directly tell steam which GPU to hardware accelerate with through the console or through a command line arguement?

No, Steam can not choose which GPU it uses for hardware acceleration.
That is done on a video driver basis.
On laptops you can choose, but on desktop PCs it's a different thing, there you only have one active videocard, which is also the one used for rendering everything.

The UI interface and i believe the overlay are what steam are using the hardware acceleration for. i'm unsure tho, i just know Steam IS using it and even gives an option to not hardware accelerate in the interface settings
