Is there a way to activate a uplay key on steam?

I bought assassin's creed 4 on humble bundle to save some cash,and they only had the uplay key available. I also own assassin's creed 3 which I bought the disc and I tried to put it as a non-steam game but steam doesn't stay open (It briefly says I'm playing a non-steam game and then I go back to being "online" so I don't get the steam overlay) after I launch it from there. Since the game is also on steam is there a way to activate it on steam as well or something? I want the game to be listed in my library as a steam game rather than a non-steam game because the steam overlay is not working for me.

No, if you do not have a steamkey it is not possible.

Any Ubisoft key purchased outside of Steam can only be activated exclusively through uPlay. Games purchased on Steam that require uPlay will be visible on your profile.

just put it on a uplay account. you'll need one to play ubisoft games anyway.

Yeah I know, I have the previous assassin's creed games, its just since I now have a steam I found out how much better the community is and stuff and I would at least like to have the game in my library as a steam game. The steam overlay doesn't come up :P
