So Steam is in Canadian Dollars now and I can't tell if I'm being screwed...
Some games are now $10 more than they used to be, some are just slightly less than they would be if I had bought them with USD using my Credit Card company's exchange rate (ie: about $5 more), others are somehow the same price they were before. Any other Canadians not know how to feel about this?

So basically since nothing has actually changed, what's the big deal? Most games are basically USD->CAD conversions. Games like CivBE and Borderlands The PreSequel are now cheaper. Just pray the CAD gets weaker so your 'conversion bonus' goes up

The witcher 3, Arma 3, Wolfenstien all went up $6.50 to $66.49.

Thats about a 10% price increase from $59.99, prepare to see more of that in the future.

You do realize that there's a 10% conversion between CAD and USD right? Aka there was no 'price increase'

This isn't across the board, though. NBA 2k15 looks to have had a 15% price increase.

A game that is usually 4.99 turns out to only be 5.49 Which when turned back into USD is only 4.92 So In the end, we get a better deal.

When the CAD reaches parity we should expect it to be $1-$1, but that wont be the case, thats what I was gettign at.

On some games. It isn't a set conversion they're doing. Some games are considerably more expensive now.

The question no one seems to be asking or answering is: Does this mean we have to start paying GST?

Thankfully no, still tax free.

It'll vary between publishers. Big devs use their own 'conversion' metrics to price games.

But even in this case. You look at 69.99CAD=62.69USD vs 59.99 USD, which sounds bad. except for the fact that you're usually paying about 2-3% forieng transaction fees for paying in USD. So assuming 2% that 59.99USD is actually 61.19USD. So you're paying like $1.50USD more for NBA2K15. Not great but again this is more or less the exception.

If we have to pay GST on top of that, ♥♥♥♥ steam.
But 54.99 is only 49.28

The real question is how quickly will they change the prices when our dollar does go back up? I'm guessing SLOWLY to squeeze us.

Publisher to publisher conversions??? BRILLIANT, steam is only a last resort for purchases anyway.

What personnally bug me is that in Canada standard price like a full price game are the same as the US (59,99 29,99 19,99). We don't pay more for games because we are in Canada. But I understand how Steam is trying to work. I just don't get though why Steam feel the need to do such thing.
