Why gaming community is filled with racists?
Ok a decade or so back even in random games with pvp it was filled with friendly people. It was rare to come across any racist but now it has become opposite now it is rare to not come across the racists. They have changed their strategy as they use terms like woke/dark humour to justify racism. It is sad as i used to thought the racism will decrease with time as world become more global and more people become educated. But damn how wrong i was, racism has increased i mean a lot, i mean it can be actually credited to orange nazi but still kinda shocking to me and specially why the huge flow of racists in gaming community. I mean why is that specially in gaming community? Although i will add one thing a little bit of it can be noise as racists are usually very active online and hence seems louder.

Tell me you never played in a halo 2 lobby in 2005 without telling me.

Those kids could drop some of the most racist ♥♥♥♥ you've ever seen, and there was at least one in every match.

I'm not talking about subtle or veiled racism either, it was full on n bombs and obscenities directed at any and every group imaginable.

Also usually threats to kill your dad and sexually assault your mom, but that's off topic.

This has been every CoD game since MW.

A decade ago, as well as 2 or 3 ago, there were also loads of jerks in the online community. It certainly wasn't rare to run into a racist person, I heard plenty yell the N word to others back in the 90s.

It seems you are slowly discovering you own species. And that people in general simply suck.

Racists appear in most communities at the same rate as their occurence in societies. The thing is. there's being quietly racist, and being openly racits. When someone is the former you don't know they're racits, when someone is the latter, they can go back to being the former.

We live in an era right now where the quiet racists and bigots hacve started becoming loud.

Granted things were pretty bad in the days. In the 90's and early 00's communities tended to be a bit smaller

Please stop watering down the word racist.
If you ever find a real one at this rate you won’t even know what to do

For every hundred people who start gaming, you get at least one who is a moron, it's not because they are a gamer, it's because they are a moron.
The more gamers there are, the more common morons become.
The problem is, people want to think that 'gamers' is a word that has some influence on people's behaviour, but anyone who follows anything that has a mass following, football, musical performers, actors etc, will know there is a percentage of a-holes.
The thing about gaming is that because of in-game chat/voice chat, etc, they can easily try to spoil the experience for everyone else, which is what they are ACTUALLY trying to do.

You're simply showing how ignorant you are, and how left-leaning and echo-chamber-like your thinking is. It's completely acceptable to have differing political views as other people, and it's normal enough for people to find different things funny, or have different tastes.

If you actually believed that people weren't racist, you're nuts. I promise you it has not gotten worse, at all. If anything, it has gotten better. But, the problem with what you said seems to allude to the fact that anyone hating on 'woke' values is immediately a racist in your view.

It works like this - you have your views - they have their views - you disagree - you walk away - the end.

It's perfectly okay to be offended by people and not have something be done about it if you can't convince them to change their views.

It is positively tame compared to how it 'used to be.'
Everyone is racist. Just some more than others and you just noticed
"Spend enough time pretending to be an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for the laughs and you'll end up surrounded by genuine ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thinking they're in good company."

At the end of the day all those years being edgy over Xbox chat paid their RoI and now genuine tools demand the place as its own.

No it isn't. It isn't at all when you compare scopes.
Back then it was just macho-bravado and teenager banter amongst a few people, usually people you knew (friends, server regulars)
Now it's all in a general space amongst regular people you don't even known.

Game companies took too long to take action against it.

There's a reason why I don't touch most multiplayer games even with a ten foot pole.

And... What would those 'woke values' some people hate be?
I'm curious.
