They need to ban overly violent games next
Steam is a family friendly platform, and there is a lot of overly violent games on steam. The credit card companies don't like overly violent games, and there is already a "war" against call of duty and battlefield in some areas in the US.

Overly violent games has been proven by many in congress and senate (on BOTH sides) to desensitize young people to violence, just like porn games.

Since all ages use steam, games that are just too violent shouldn't be allowed.

Things like pokemon, farming games, LEARNING games, pet games (neopets for example) are all good games that are safe with credit card companies and a family friendly steam.

Time to get rid of overly violent games imo. Especially games that make crime and stealing cars look like its a good thing, which won't name the obvious one but we all know the popular game I'm talking about.

Also to add post-edit, if that means some of my games get removed or become unbuyable? That is ok with me if that saves steam from being deleted by the credit card companies or the government. I'd rather steam be a friendly place, and if want violent games I can use other stores same with adult games.

Also to further add. When I was young (13) I played a really violent game about stealing cars (the one I mentioned). Well, guess what I did? I thought it looked cool and was a good thing, I stole a mercedes...crashed it...went to the hospital for 3 months, juvenile hall time (was a minor luckily got off lucky imo even though I'm black, was my first offense) for 3 months and had to do community service for a year. But playing that game DID desensitize me to crime and violence.

Please tell me this is satire.
No, read my post-edit. When I was young after playing a violent game about stealing cars, murder, attacking random people etc...I did that in RL (the stealing cars part, not the other stuff) it looked cool in a game so I thought that was cool irl.

I definitely learned it wasn't cool, wasn't good. But no school or teacher or my parents taught me that before it was too late. Luckily I never did another crime since, but how many young people end up doing that cause it looks cool in a game?

Just one example

The ESRB was created for this decades ago.

Doesn't matter. I'm talking about credit card companies not being a fan of OVERLY (a bit of violence seems to be okay with them) violent games. Just like porn games, they are trying to get a car stealing violent game that is popular removed as well, not just my post about it (as a kid I liked it too but taught me bad things like said) because of its effect it has on youth.

Porn games are just as bad and I'm personally glad they got removed, they are no different than porn and don't belong on a gaming platform. They have a similar effect on youth as well, hence why I brought up my own personal experience with a car stealing game.

Specifically though, games that are only about crime and overly violent credit card companies don't like. We all know the games I'm talking about, I'm sure. Where you are a criminal doing crime and it looks cool as a kid, but isn't. Those are the games credit card companies don't like either.

Go ahead and join the coalition you're so upset about.

That'll show us.

"If I can't have extremely questionable porn on Steam, nobody should have anything!"

Come on.
So no more Skyrim op? Or Red Dead, Elden Ring for that matter?

Well I'm an adult now. I'm more thinking what the credit card companies don't like, so if credit card companies don't like overly violent games or games that are too porn-like, I'd definitely be ok with them being blocked from sale. Though if steam just removed them, I'd be kinda upset if I didn't get my money back even after all this time tbh.

Well I'd answer that for you. You wouldn't get your money back, if it was more than 2 weeks from the purchase date and you had more than 2 hours of play time.
When they try to ban regular games, you will likely have some support.

Until then, nobody normal will ever be like "Yeah, let's have more rape and incest on this platform." Gooners need to get a grip with reality. Ain't nobody except for people who are telling on themselves are gonna support that.

When this coalition tries to come after a normal game (because they will), there will be pushback. Until then, the creepy, weirdo smut is gone and everyone normal is saying good riddance.

Will they try? Yes. Will they succeed? Debatable. Why? Because there's a major difference between rape porn and Cyberpunk and anyone who doesn't understand that, is lost in the lotion.
Also, the games are not being banned. They are being delisted. There is a distinct difference. It's also not all porn games. It's games that have two specific pieces of adult content.

If you bought these games, they remain in your library.

They've given people money back for games like uh...was it the day before? A lot had 2+ hours (though don't think the game had been out even 2 weeks) and steam was pretty lenient about refunds with that game. Think everyone ultimately got refunded from that game, but either way I'd hope they'd give steam wallet compensation for deleting a game out of an account. I dunno what their policy is for that though.

Worst case scenario as far as skyrim goes, its on consoles, its not as moddable, but still fun to play even without all the fancy mods.

As for the rest of the games, not so lucky if they outright deleted them from steam as most are just steam only. Tbh, I think they shouldn't go that far but more just block the sales of certain games if the credit card companies complain about them at all. But steam probably would go all the way and delete them outright.
All you have to do is grab a decent AI and have it generate a few hundred letters with a detailed prompt (include some randomizing factors), and then make a few dozen e-mail addresses per day and send off those letters at random intervals (so as not to set off suspicion if they all come in at the same time).
