I wish steam would change how steam family works!!!!
I wanted my younger brother to play a game with me but I live in a different county cuz life sucks, anyway the way steam family works makes it so family that's far away/in a different county or region cant join, and Don't say "just move closer" we cant if that was not obvious. So if steam could change that it would be so nice cuz were poor and cant afforded buying the same games twice when ever we want to play together.

They did just change it, and the restriction of being in the same country was so that multiple users can access the library at the same time.

Unfortunately its unlikely they will change it as that would lead to widescale abuse.

Although Steam family share wouldn't let you use one copy of a game for two people at the same time, so either way you would need 2 copies of the game if you wanted to play together. Unless the game (not sure which one) supports remote play together which is not reliant on Steam Family share.
Thanks for feedback I didn't know your family couldn't play the same game at the sometime with one copy, but I wish they could find another way to stop the abuse of steam family sharing so it could be more friendly to family's that live far apart.

That is how licensing works, you have one copy, one copy can be played at any given time.

If there are two required, you'll have to buy the second one.

One copy can't be played twice, as that would require another license.

Unfortunately some things are not possible thanks to plain old human nature. My sister also lives in another country, so we simply opt to buy our own copies of the game we want to play together.

At the end of the day, you can thank your fellow humans as to why we can never have nice things.

What game are you trying to play with your brother? Some support remote play together as I mentioned
