Please Reconsider the ‘Games From Russia 2025’ Sale
Dear Steam Team,

I understand that your platform may want to remain outside of politics.
However, the war in Ukraine is ongoing, and Russian forces are still killing Ukrainian civilians every day.

In this context, promoting a sale like
https://store.steampowered.com/sale/GamesFromRussia2025
feels incredibly insensitive — even disturbing.

To draw a parallel: imagine an exhibition of modern German books being held in London in 1943.
Would that have felt appropriate?

Please reconsider. Some things are too serious to ignore.

The irony is I wouldn't even have been aware of it if you didn't post, because it's not showing anywhere on the store pages for me.

Even if someone doesn’t know a crime is happening, it still needs to be stopped and punished.
And posting here is going to make no difference, this is a user forum, not a feedback to Valve forum.
skyscraper in front of my apartment got droned in December, my friend in Rostov gets droned every day, my friend from Berdyansk(a Ukrainian town, occupied by Russians) gets droned by his own allies, my friend in Donetsk gets bombed since 2014, and? I don't see any reason to stop the similar festival about Ukrainian games among all the reasons that I have listed.
Stop looking at bloody dictators actions and look at game devs and people that just want to play some games dude, touch some grass.
Sure, OP. Or it's simply possible to have a sale without needing to attach context to it. I mean, if we do add context, no games from any country should be for sale. Every country has done bad things, you know.

Thanks for the link, btw, I'll have a browse.

Ehh... Such sale is honestly kinda in bad taste. Pretty much nobody I know likes those people. That kind of feeling of animosity runs deep here in the area for like... dunno... 200+ years?

Since they stole some lands thrice in XVIII century, co-caused WW II, switched sides to win and had their own little bloc for a while until it collapsed. That's understandable amount of reasons for bad blood between nations, I believe.
Bad blood, sure. But to say a sale can't be done? Yeah, that's bollocks.

So, you've just connected WW2 to 18th century straight. That calls for an award. No need to hesitate - you've earned it.

Exactly, couldn't have put it better myself.

Sure, Putin Bad, we all get that. However, some small-time Developer who just happened to be Classed as being 'IN' Russia, just because, to use one example, he's a Single dude just on the Border with Finland less than 500 Metres away, so close to Finland that he can get Cell Service from Finland, and TV from Finland, and so on, but because he's in Russia, his Company is Russian... Why screw him over, it's not his fault that Putin's being a D###.
