As someone who mostly plays multiplayer games, how can I enjoy singleplayer games more?
Why I ask is because basically all multiplayer games I play have the most stupid and selfish teammates which generally ruins it for me. But on the other hand, I seem to easily get bored of almost all singleplayer games (even ones I love).

Think about why this happens and you know.

For example, I would guess you like to play with people, so SP gets boring to you because of the lack of other players. Perhaps get a hatred for people then?

I already rather hate many people. Most people around the world (especially privileged ones) match the neutral axis in the DND personality thing, its about only caring about what benefits you and people you're close with.

However, I did say why I tend to hate multiplayer despite loving it when that reason isn't happening.

Might be burnout from the hobby as a whole at that point

Do you like playing MP because of the difficulty, or maybe you are secretly liking the fact that idiots surround you? Because they said that the pleasure of living lies in difficulties and hardship :princessdaiyosei:

You can try playing a SP game that offers engaging conversation/dialogue/story, and with difficult/unpredictable storylines.

Thay's just human nature, we're a self absorved species.

But the core of my post is to find out what it is that attracts you so much in MP and what you miss in SP to fully enjoy it.

Likely it's related to the adrrnaline rushes from playing against fellow humans, wjich you miss from SP games. But that's me guessing.

I prefer to play in my own pace, do my own stupid thinds and not be screamed at by wannabe internet tough guys. So I only play MP with my kids. I'm not even gonna try with random people anymore.

Exactly with regards to humanity. I even rather hate my own people because of how self absorbed so many people are. I even don't like my own family much because of it.

Though, I think the reason why I'm attracted to MP so much is because bots in SP were usually too easy in my experience and I likely don't really know how to enjoy being on my own unless I'm doing something I love a lot which isn't common unfortunately. I think me being perfectionist may also make SP much more difficult for me to enjoy. You're likely right with the adrenaline thing, even though I'm rather ♥♥♥♥ at PVP. I tried PVE too but I seem to get bored too easily.

And with regards to being ♥♥♥♥ at PVP, I wish I could do less of it since I can't seem to improve without feeling stressed which defeats the point of playing a video game.

Its likely due to difficulty and with regards to idiots surrounding me, I really hate it but I unfortunately engage with them a lot. I stupidly get really angry in chat at times along with trying to "make them suffer" if they try to ♥♥♥♥ with me (trolling, rudely using me to farm kills etc).

Probably, gaming rather feels like a way to use up time when I'm not feeling well enough to do anything (I suffer from mental health issues and a couple of disabilities). Although I can truly enjoy gaming sometimes, it wouldn't surprise me if I'd do it much less if I was happy enough with my life.

Yeah, just trying to figure out what it does for you. From there on you can go further.

So, challenge seems to be important for you, considering you prefer people over bots. Challenge is something that is indeed wildly different between MP and SP. Higher difficulties in SP aren't necessarily more challenge, often just more HP and such.

It could also be genre related. I assume you play SP games in the same type of genres you play MP in. Perhaps a whole different genre can help in that.
Playing a story based action-adventure or RPG is very different from turn-based strategy/tactics or puzzle games. Could be you just need different genres for your SP experience.

Perhaps PVE games are a good fit for you.

Same here, btw. Gaming is an outlet, though not the only one. I also do a lot of reading, watch series with my daughter, sports (I'm one of the coaches of my sons football (soccer) team). I try to keep busy, you know, otherwise I think too much.

But gaming always is an outlet. I tend to play a lot of digital card and board games. On Steam, but also on my iPad. I always have it with me and I can always find one of such games to play. Digital card/board games are the one genre I can always play and that somehow soothe me.

With regards to PVE, I may be able to enjoy if it has enough things I love. I can see it being good if I could picture myself regularly playing it but I'm unfortunately really picky with which games and sets of mods I use. Hopefully I can get past it since its a big problem, its the main reason why I play MP games I tend to hate playing.

Speaking of game genres, I'm mainly into realistic military games but I like a few others. I know I loved the sandbox nature of Minecraft several times but I was unfortunately too picky with which mods to use in recent years and I'd get bored too quickly when playing on PVE servers with strangers I don't have much in common with. I haven't done much PVP on Minecraft for years since such servers tend to be pretty toxic and fast-paced but yeah.

Oof, sorry to hear that. I agree that gaming isn't the only outlet but I tend to not have other options unfortunately since I'm terrible at making myself do anything interesting by myself (even though I love foraging and fixing the environment), I seem to require at least a bit of social pressure from people I care enough about to have enough motivation to do much else. Sadly though, I'm not really friends with anyone who has similar interests and I don't like my family much. Although I have a few good friends and I may get a bit of disability support at some point but its still ♥♥♥♥♥♥. I'd also move well away from where I live if I could but I'm sadly very far away from that.

You may want to branch out a bit. As you get older, it's certainly possible some genres you never really tried, or didn't like before, become interesting.

Do be careful with being too picky, cause that indeed can limit yourself. 20 years ago I used to be all about sports management, RTS, racing and FPS. Nowadays I rarely play any of those 3. During my "gaming life" I tried loads of things and now thusly ended up being a gamer who is so broad in genres, I'll never play all the good stuff, lol.

Main factor for me was getting older and wanting more my own pacing in games. Plus the whining of people who call you a cheater just because you had a lucky headshot.

Life can be difficult, yeah. I get ya, my autistic arse sometimes seems to be immovable as well. Well, out of my own, cause my kids usually drag me along anyway.

I will say that having kids does help with that. It forces you more into the open, you know. I never thought I would like being a football coach so much, since it's loads outdoor with also bad weather and such. But I absolutely love it.

But I get ya. Had I not been this slightly unsocial autistic weirdo, I'd probably do less gaming as well. ;)
