Did you buy it new directly from Valve? Or did you buy a used or refurbished one?
I bought mine November 2023 and I typically get 5-10 hours, depending on the game.
With that wealth of detail and information, all I can suggest is that you open a ticket with support. Maybe you got a dud with a bad battery. Unlikely, but possible. They'll probably walk you through some troubleshooting steps first, and if those don't work, if you are within the warranty period they'll help you with the RMA process.
Before you do that though, if you haven't already, you can also try tinkering with some settings to try and get a better balance of performance/power consumption. It doesn't do it automatically. Press the "..." button and select the lighting bolt icon. Now you can try limiting the frame rate, limiting the APU wattage, limiting the CPU or GPU clock speed. Especially with heavier games like you're playing, you can sometimes lower the in-game resolution to something lower than 800p or 720p, then enable FSR to reduce the strain on the system without losing too much fidelity. Lowering the screen brightness also helps improve battery life a bit. Sometimes it's beneficial to run a game at a lower frame rate and lower settings if it means better battery life. You just need to find a balance that works for you. Also enable "per game settings", and the settings will only save for the game you're on, so you can customize that stuff for each game.
Check ProtonDB[www.protondb.com] or even YouTube for tips on settings for particular games.
Video with helpful information on improving your battery life. Shows an LCD Deck, but the tips still apply to the OLED. It's also a year old and the menus have slightly changed, but generally they're the same.

But yeah, it last about 2 hours depending the game you play. This happens to me when I play Monster Hunter Stories, for example. I would say that your Deck isn't broken or something.
