How do I actually send message to Steam Support?
Seriously, from the support page I couldn't find a way to contact them and I've been clicking away for half an hour at least, it's just a rabbit hole of links and topics for a supposed self help but I bought a game key off a retailer who told me that if my key is invalid, I should send a message to Steam Support. So is it a lie? You can't really contact Steam support at all or am I missing something?

Who was the retailer? Is it "some guy on ebay?"

Kinda sounds like someone scammed you.

But if legit, I'd review the very easy to find steam CD keys FAQ: https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/0E71-0971-324A-1161

The retailer is bulshitting you. Ask for a working key or your money back and if the retailer doesn't comply, issue a refund request.

So someone sells you a product and says at the same time i dont know if it works. If it doesnt work dont come back to me for help go to the other shop and ask them for help and all you do is throwing money at them and then complain to the other shop?

Whats the name of this trustworthy "retailer"?
I would still second to the fact that it seems impossible to get any real help from steam, I have an issue with a gift that does not appear in my library after activation and it says « communicate with steam support »… I’ve been looking everywhere to find a way to write to someone about that topic and nothing, I’m going in circles through their « help » links.

The retailer is full of ♥♥♥♥. Support won't do ♥♥♥♥ for a key bought from grey market. They know that.

Just charge back their asses and stop using that fraud of a site you used

Steam Client
upper left nav bar

click on help
select steam support, select the best option that fits your problem, then select "I still have a question______"

Fill out the support ticket.

have patience waiting for a reply. Remember they get several hundred tickets per hour for various stuff.

If they were a legitimate keyseller they would not tell you to contact Steam Support if it is invalid as the key would be legitimate and activate.

True. Steam sticks a bunch of digital notes to a digital wall and that's it. Customer helped.

Don't bother. Steam Support's answer will be to contact the site that sold you the key. If the seller is telling you they can't fix it, then the seller is not legit.

It was on Eneba, the key provider was City of Gamers. Luckily the game (Fight'N Rage) was only like $5, but it's still annoying someone sells used retail keys and gets away with it.
Anyway, thanks for the replies, guys. Good get some other opinions.

Issue a chargeback. That way, the seller/Eneba will get hit with fees.

In this case its a lie from the game seller and as stated if they won't refund you issue a charge back.

Its easy to get help from Steam for issues they actually deal with. That is not a steam issue and its solely on the seller.
