Stop asking for my age
I want STEAM to stop asking for my age every time I open the game.

I definitely feel like your age given to age verification is data being collected and sold. I don't suggest using your real age unless they clearly mark it as a crime to not do so.

this bothers me. shouldn't be asking a child any questions online. i hate it just as much as when people who have kids make the choice to change the child's gender ID and the child can't even walk?

1. Citation needed.
2. I'm going to need you to turn over the contents of your hard drive to the FBI
3. This has nothing to do with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ topic.

While browsing the Store with the mobile app, I just encountered an age gate for the first time in a while. It already had my chosen birthday set, Jan 1, 1970. I just clicked continue and went about my day.

Where's the complication here?

They cannot hold onto that Information.
It's not even a verification. They simply ask. My account is older than 18 ffs, it's so annoying.

here is an idea: remove it for accounts older than 18 years. those users is over 18 anyway.

The issue is the law requires they ask it. Just because the account is over 18 years old doesn't mean the person who is using the account is over 18 years old. People leave their computers unlocked, kids figure out passwords, etc.
It will have to change by July. In order to comply with the UK Online Safety Act, all websites and services accessible in the UK and used by a UK citizen via an ISP or VPN must implement ID/age verification. Not just for adult websites as is being incorrectly reported by the media and individuals. Ofcom's preferred method is both Government photo ID and live, ongoing facial recognition. Verification must be performed for every session. One of the concerns for the regulator was the initial verification being passed by an adult and then the device is passed to a minor.

I guarantee you, most websites would drop the UK harder than a sack of bricks than implement this.
