Survey, but no incentive!
5 billion in revenue, but you can't even offer Steam points for doing the survey?

Corporations make me giggle with the greed...

Surveys exist in the real world as paid items where you collect points to get "prizes". Steam points cost Valve nothing. It is not like he is suggesting free games, just maybe 1000 steam points would be reasonable.

Or how about a special points shop item instead? A "survey completed" sticker.

Or whisper it - a badge?

Just sayin'.

The hardware survey doesn't need to offer incentives for an optional thing most people will never see or agree to.

:nkCool:
SO many want a piece of that revenue stream.
"people are greedy for not giving me free stuff!"
Signing today's "gimme free stuff" thread.
No one is obligated or required to give you a reward for completing a survey.

If a game does that, that is because the devs want to, but they don't have to.

Anytime a survey giver gives a reward for doing their survey, it is because they WANT to give a reward.
They are not required to.

Surveys are meant to gather information, not to bribe people.

Also, these are discussion forums, not affirmation forums. We are not required to agree with the OP.

Sure, Hikari but we all, myself included, tend to play Devil's Advocate.

Why do you need to be bribed in order to offer up information that serves to make the service better for you?

Why do you feel the need to play devil's advocate for a company with 5,000 million dollars in yearly revenue? They can't spare some Steam points for the time investment?

Can't even ask a question without people screaming about 'bribes' and feeling the need to defend a megacorporation that wouldn't spare a raven's cold sh!t for you, lmao. Literally brainwashed slaves, it's kind of insane.

What does their revenue have to do with steam points that have no monetary value?
