Why do I get a mail-notification when I GIVE an award, but not when i RECEIVE one?
Seems backwards. I know when I've given a reward, because I was the one giving it. Wouldn't it be much more appropriate to get a mail when I actually receive one? That's what I'm interested in.

I guess its like any other transaction you make on Steam and they send you a copy via email.

Sometime account hijackers will mass send out awards to other accounts. I have seen many cases here in the forums where people have suddenly discovered their account is sending out awards via the notifications in their emails, only to realise they have been hijacked.
In this scenario i would find that notification super helpful...

I set mine “ on” so long ago, that I forgot, that there was ever such an option.
