Who still has a PS2? Cause I have a working PS2 Slim, the best console ever existed
So I was playing some Deadly Alliance which my memory card which is very old like saves all the old games that I played such as Kingdom Hearts, Crash, but my memory card for my PS2 slim semi works and semi doesn't work, which when I load the game that I grew up on Budokai 3 the best Dragon Ball Z game to ever existed which Budokai 3 does not even load so I'm just in the PS2 ambiance music as for other games which I actually like the PS2 out of anything else even the PS5 and PC isn't even up there in my opinion only the PS2 and the PS3 before Sony started to charge people to play online which is stupid very much indeed

I've got 2 slims somewhere out in a storage unit
My slim broke years ago and can't read games. I use the other one, though there is a way i saw on YT i could probably fix it.

I've got an older PS2, but I really need to dust/etc it. Last time I ran it (a few years ago), I tried to do a full-mountain run in SSX 3, and it crashed about 3/4 of the way down.
My PS2 Slim is weird cause It can read games and then does not out of no where and then read games again and couple of years ago I put a small jar where I used to put my coins in so It's just a empty jar that I put in a certain spot on my PS2 which actually fixed It cause the empty small jar where I put It at where my PS2 slim disc spins which reads the games and actually loads the game

So, you're saying if you put a jar on top the unit, it works? What is it doing like putting pressure on the lens or something?
I have a PS2 Slin with games. Original memory cards and controllers too.
quite easy to jailbreak today.

I have several and a BC PS3 (60GB model)
Adjust the lasers potentiometer and they will work fine again! They come out of adjustment after years of play, any cd rom or dvd rom console. Putting a jar on top of your console adds weight which puts pressure downward keeping the disc from jumping when your potentiometer is out of alignment because the disc is not being read right and can actually damage it further (forcing the disc to be read using weight when the potentiometer is not reading the disc right because it is out of alignment)

Possibly. PS2 were notorious for having their lens go out of alignment. Luckily, there was a gear that you could easily adjust to correct the alignment.

I have both my launch edition PS2 and my PS2 slim sitting in a box in my closet, right alongside my wii, gamecube, NES, PS3, x-box 360 Arcade, my PSP, DS Lite, launch edition DS, and GBA SP.

Once I build my full entertainment system and find a cable hub I like that won't tangle everything into a mess, I'mma set them all up.
I have PS2 Fat with HDD bay with ethernet port.

Now about PS2 mem card that sound odd, not sure what to tell you if it system, or card, game disc wear & tear, or the data itself being the issue. Example timesplitters 2 I have on gamecube there is a small chance save can become corrupted gods know why exactly from either map making, too much saving, or just wear & tear on the disc.

Anyways if ever want to backup your games saves, I hand down recommend PS2 card reader, or softmod your PS2 to collect your save files to store on PC. For me I used PS2 card reader adapter for my PS3, and just copy place it on my PC use emulator to play my old games, another benefit to soft modding ps2, is making backups of your games, to help preserve my games from wear & tear.

That sounds like something loose, or your lid with switch to press down not making full contact that my guess on this.
